Vintage Art Deco Apollo EPNS Bernard Rice's Sons Cocktail Shaker 4339 Hammered
Bernard Rice's Sons
Description: Beautiful Apollo Prohibition-era Art Deco cocktail shaker made by the renowned Bernard Rice's Sons. Handled, vase shaped shaker features a classic hand-hammered texture that captures the gorgeous aesthetic of the 1920's speakeasy culture. The lid mechanism is stamped Pat May 13, 1924. The bottom of the shaker is stamped Apollo EPNS Bernard Rice's Sons 4339. This piece is in good vintage/antique condition with an authentic aged patina that highlights the hammered details. The interior built-in strainer wall is intact, a rare find for these 100 year old shakers. Flaws to note: a small ding/dent on the hexagonal pour cap; a small ding/dent on the knob of the lid that is so minor, its hard to tell if it's the hammering or a dent; and a mild/shallow dent/crease on one side of the body. Because of the hammered design, the flaws are quite subtle but deserve disclosure (see photos). No heavy polishing has been attempted to preserve the original antique finish. An exceptional display piece for a vintage bar cart, Art Deco collector or Prohibition history enthusiast. General Information: Photographs are part of the description.
