Stored without ever being used.
Please check the photos for the storage condition.

This is a Kiyomizu-yaki (Kyoto ware) zodiac rabbit incense container.
What is an incense container?
It is a small lidded container for storing incense.
The body separates into two parts, top and bottom.
Therefore, it is offered as a set of 2 items.

What is Suehiro (spreading out)?
It refers to the gesture of opening a fan,
and it is named because the shape spreads out towards the tip when the fan is opened,
resembling a Suehiro-gari (widening towards the end) shape.
It carries an auspicious meaning,
symbolizing a future that gradually opens up towards happiness.
From this,
Suehiro is considered an auspicious item representing prosperity,
and has been used since ancient times for celebrations,
as well as gifts and commemorative items.
