Description
Beautiful floral patterned lacquered tiered bento box with 4 compartments.
This is a tiered bento box from Yamanaka lacquerware, a traditional craft of Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture.

It features delicate and elegant Maki-e (gold lacquer decoration) on the lid. This bento box is from the workshop Kasho.
Features and Appeal
Design: The black lacquer surface is adorned with floral Maki-e in blue and gold colors. Yamanaka lacquerware is known for its advanced decorative techniques, sometimes mentioned alongside Kanazawa of Maki-e.
Robust Construction: Yamanaka lacquerware uses a unique wood selection method called tateki-tori (vertical wood grain cutting), which makes it resistant to warping due to drying, resulting in a durable and long-lasting product.
Practicality: The interior has removable dividers, making it a practical design that can be used for various purposes such as Osechi Ryori (New Year's traditional cuisine) or hors d'oeuvres.
Product Composition
Two-tiered Bento Box: The exterior is black, and the interior is a vibrant vermilion lacquer, creating a beautiful contrast.
Dividers: Each tier contains four separate containers, allowing for beautiful arrangement of dishes.
Yamanaka lacquerware is one of Japan's representative lacquerware items, widely used for special occasions and everyday dining.
