This is a Senkashi bowl made by the second generation Murase Jihei, a wood craftsman.
It is a new, unused item that was purchased by my aunt around the late Showa to early Heisei period and has been stored since.

This beautiful piece combines the strong wood grain unique to Sawakuri with the elegant luster of genuine lacquerware. It is perfect not only as a confectionery bowl but also for serving sushi, fruits, or as a decorative tray.

There is a maker's mark on the back. Comes with the original box. The condition of the outer box is also good.

New and unused item. No noticeable deterioration is observed, but please understand that there may be minor scuffs and small scratches due to long-term storage. There is a roughness characteristic of wood carvings. Please check the photos for the condition.

[Artist Biography]
Born in Nagoya in 1927.
Inherited the name Second Generation Jihei in 1976.
Specializing in Negoro-nuri and Komagoma-nuri, he established his own unique style.
