☆This is a bolt of Kōmon (small pattern) fabric made of pure silk chirimen. 100% Silk. Bolt width approx. 36 cm. Length approx. 13.6 m (from end to end, including unpatterned sections).

☆About Ise-gata Sōka Komon (Ise-patterned floral small pattern)

Ise-gata Sōka Komon is a Kōmon kimono dyed with intricate floral motifs using Ise-katagami, a traditional craft from Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture. From a distance, it appears plain (Iro-muji), but upon closer inspection, delicate floral patterns emerge. It is a versatile kimono, popular for its suitability for a wide range of occasions, from casual outings to slightly more formal events.

☆This is a highly textured chirimen fabric, possibly referred to as Oni-shibo chirimen (demon-pleated chirimen).

☆Please use this for casual outings such as practice sessions, walks around town, theater visits, or dinner parties. With the right obi, it may also be suitable for semi-formal occasions.

☆Please use this for sewing classes or as educational material for schools.

☆It can also be used to make a Nagahori (long haori jacket).

☆This fabric can also be used as material for handmade items. There is about 80 cm of plain white fabric at the end of the bolt, which could be used for making dolls or accessories.
