Signed Art Siegel 11/14/99 Big Leaf Maple Burl Wood Turned Vessel Natural Edge

Beautiful signed studio wood vessel by Art Siegel, turned from Big Leaf Maple Burl. The underside is hand-signed and identified by the maker as “Big Leaf Maple Burl,” and date, 11/14/99, also recorded.  The vessel has a striking natural-edge rim with the original rugged burl/bark formation contrasting beautifully with the smoothly turned and polished body. The highly figured maple has wonderful variations in color, grain, knots and burl pattern throughout.  The organic natural edge gives the piece a sculptural quality, while the classic turned form keeps it elegant and displayable in a variety of interiors.
