Antique Celery Vase Dalzell, Gilmore and Leighton Glass Arkansas Big Diamond No 39D Heavy glass celery vase with a diamond and star pattern. Clear glass with a very slight pale purple lavender color. Vase was more than likely in or near a window. The magnesium in the glass is and will continue to turn purple as it is exposed to UV light. The glow under a UV black light is due to the magnesium. Pattern No 39D or Arkansas Big Diamond was introduced 1890. The company ended in 1899. Celery vases were popular from Victorian era to the early 1900s.
