Vintage 1990s Levi’s 501XX Distressed Denim Cutoff Shorts – High Waist Button Fl

The kind of vintage Levi’s that looks as though someone spent twenty years trying to make them this good.An exceptionally worn-in pair of vintage Levi’s 501XX jeans, cut down into tiny high-waisted denim shorts and faded to that nearly impossible-to-recreate pale blue that only old cotton denim seems to achieve properly.Originally tagged W32 L34, these began life as a classic pair of 501s before being transformed into cutoffs. The original Levi’s paper patch remains at the back, along with the iconic red tab, five-pocket construction, copper-tone rivets and traditional button fly.  The denim is distressed throughout with abrasions, small tears, softened areas and beautifully irregular fading. The raw-cut legs have continued to unravel with wear, leaving long threads and an wonderfully imperfect fringe around the hem. The original side seams have opened slightly at the bottom. It gives them that effortless, almost accidentally perfect shape that is so difficult to reproduce intentionally. The waist is high, with an approximately 11” front rise, while the short raw hem makes the proportions especially flattering.
