Beautiful vintage American-made glass Christmas tree ornament dating approximately to the late 1930s–early 1940s.  Classic round silvered glass ball with a rich red finish. Original smooth scalloped metal cap is stamped MADE IN U.S.A.  This style of early American ornament and cap is associated with the Shiny Brite era of pre-WWII Christmas ornament production.  Approximate measurements:  * 2¾ diameter  * Approximately 3 tall including neck/cap  Condition:  Vintage pre-owned condition with age-related wear. The red finish shows visible crazing/crackling, light scratches, spotting and areas of finish variation consistent with its age. Metal cap and hanging loop show oxidation and wear.
