Vintage Kahla Konitz Soup Bowls Set of 4 - Autumn Leaves Gold Rim Germany
N/A
Kahla and Könitz were two of Thuringia's oldest porcelain makers, Kahla dating to 1844 and Könitz to 1909, merged in 1962 into VEB Vereinigte Porzellanwerke Kahla-Könitz as part of East Germany's state porcelain combine. This crown backstamp is from that era, when the factories produced tableware for homes across the GDR and beyond. This set of four soup bowls carries the same graceful autumn spray of maple and fern leaves, tiny berries, and small white blossoms in burgundy, gold, and green, finished with a delicate gold rim. Light yet substantial in hand, true to fine porcelain. Food-safe glaze, hand wash recommended to preserve the gold trim. Each bowl measures approximately 9.25 inches across, ideal for soup, pasta, or a hearty salad course. This pattern matches other Kahla-Könitz pieces in our shop, so if you're building out a set, take a peek at our other listings, more may be waiting for you there. Condition: good vintage condition with light gold wear consistent with age; please see photos for full condition details. Marked on the base with the Kahla-Könitz crown backstamp. Every piece has a past. Find yours. Sarah / The Storied House Co.
