Antique Bruges, very fine thread linear floral, delicate bobbin lace
A delicate Bruges lace doily, evoking the charming atmosphere of the antique Belgian city of Bruges.
This beautiful bobbin lace doily features a design where linear flowers, woven with extremely fine threads, emerge within an octagonal (8-petal) flower.
The geometric patterns created by soft curves, reminiscent of Spirograph drawings, are lacy and refreshing. The ruffled lace at the edge may be crochet.
A gentle ivory beige tone, with a hint of skin tone.
Woven with exceptionally fine, exquisite threads, this small piece clearly took a considerable amount of time to complete. Among the Bruges lace doilies I am offering, this is the finest, smoothest, and lightest.
Please excuse any errors in the amateur measurements below for this handmade craft item.
Diameter: Approx. 13.5 cm
Weight: Likely less than 1g
There are no severe damages such as scratches or stains, but two petals have a slightly more sepia tone than the surrounding area. The image placed on glass (images 10-14) should make this clear. It is hardly noticeable on a wooden table. There are also areas that appear to be repaired thread unraveling.
This item is recommended for those who do not mind these minor imperfections. Please also be aware of other small flaws.
Use it under small dolls or objets d'art, or on a jewelry tray.
I am also offering other items woven with extremely fine threads:
Antique Miracle of Ultra-Fine Thread Embroidery, Tiny Raised Scallop, Beautiful Wedding Handkerchief
Antique Rosaline Lace, Rosaline Perle & Snowflake, Snow Crystal Doily
Antique Teneriffe Lace, Ultra-Fine Thread, Sunflower, Sun, and Flowers, Ivory Linear Doily
Antique Portugal, Rare Azores Lace, Ultra-Fine Thread Doily, Fluffy Light Snow
