Description
Those familiar with cast iron will immediately recognize the superior craftsmanship. Achieving such precision in both the motif and the text is extremely difficult. All maker's marks are clear, confirming it is undoubtedly a work by Toshirou Okuni.

Motif: Zheng Yunduan on a boat at the Red Cliffs, in the process of creating a draft.
Text: Catching fish to brew wine, to be offered to the bearded Su.

Motif: Zheng Yunduan's Red Cliffs Painting
This is a poem inspired by Su Dongpo's Ode to the Red Cliffs, composed by a lone figure on a boat. It features Zheng Yunduan, one of the two greatest female poets in Chinese history, a subject rarely known in Japan, which astounds with Okuni Toshirou's profound erudition.

Lao Man, with heroic gaze, sought to swallow Wu,
A million ships, reduced to ashes by a single blaze.
What remains are the clear wind and bright moon,
Catching fish to brew wine, to be offered to the bearded Su.

Lao Man (Lao Man): Cao Cao (a playful, exaggerated name)
Heroic gaze: To survey with the eyes of a hero
Ships (Lou Sen): The great fleet at the Red Cliffs
A single blaze (Yikyo): A single fire (fire attack)
Reduced to ashes (Karu): Burned to nothing
What remains (Ryudoku): What can be left / remains
Clear wind and bright moon (Seifu Meigetsu): Core vocabulary from the Ode to the Red Cliffs
Catching fish (Amio): To catch fish (life of reclusion)
Brew wine (Boshu): To procure wine
To be offered (Fu): To entrust / to offer
Bearded Su (Zenso): Su Dongpo with a rich beard (elegant title)

Overall meaning of the poem:
Even after the battle of the Red Cliffs of old, the clear wind and bright moon remain here. Now, I catch fish, drink wine, and remember Su Dongpo.
