French Antique Lorraine Chair, Old Wood, 1800s, Chair
Sourced in France.
Estimated Age: Circa 1870s
The Grand Est region, located in northeastern France, is an area where the territory shifted between Germany and France for 1000 years, a borderland where both cultures intermingle.
The Lorraine chair, passed down and loved for a long time, is a traditional folk craft furniture.
It exhibits a well-balanced rustic charm and neatness found in this region, possessing a quiet elegance.
While it is a chair for sitting, it also enhances the atmosphere of a space simply by being placed there.
The openwork backrest, like a picture frame, highlights the wall and empty space.
Place a single flower on the flat seat. Or a decorative object.
It is recommended as a display chair because it makes even casual items look beautiful, like a scene from a still life painting.
This Lorraine chair features an elaborately designed top part of the backrest, which differs from a perfectly square backrest and makes it an elegant piece.
Wood joint looseness and wobbling have been maintained.
