Yo*n-sama Utamaro Beauty Print ★ Ultra Rare Uchiwa Ukiyo-e Edo Period ★ Great for Collections ◎ Retro Lovers

This is a round fan featuring a Ukiyo-e print by Kitagawa Utamaro, a renowned artist famous for his beautiful women, discovered in our warehouse.
This hand-painted fan depicts an Edo-period style Ukiyo-e beauty, characterized by its green and multicolor design.
One of Kitagawa Utamaro's masterpieces is Kansei Era Beauties (Three Beauties of the Time). This bijin-ga (picture of a beautiful woman) was created during the late Edo period, specifically the Kansei era (1790s), and showcases Utamaro's delicate colors and sophisticated composition.
This Ukiyo-e print portrays three real women who were celebrated as the Three Great Beauties of Edo at the time: Tomimoto Toyohina, Naniwaya Okita (a popular waitress at a tea house in Asakusa), and Takashimaya Ohisa. This work achieved explosive popularity and revolutionized the style of bijin-ga.
The reverse side features the logo Maruichi-jirushi (the trademark of Maruichi Sake Brewery Co., Ltd. in Aichi Prefecture) along with the text Meishu Hoshiizumi Kan-kun, suggesting it was distributed as a promotional item and not for sale. This is a retro, non-sale item from a sake brewery with over 100 years of tradition, founded in the 6th year of the Taisho era.
