Vtg 1940s Victoriana Chalkware Antique Vase of Flowers Wall Art Plaque Charming!

This lovely chalkware plaque features its original paint in a 3-D relief-style that showcases a Victorian style urn of Arranged Flowers set within a stylized ornate frame. Details: Design: This one is a very Victorian style depicting a tall urn of arranged flowers consisting of daisies or dahlias, fern fronds for foliage, and lily of the valley stems. Urns such as this were often entryway displays on a center table to greet visitors. Flower arranging was an art that all ladies of the home learned.... often using blooms from their own gardens grown just for the craft. This plaque also includes cut-out sections within the frame to add depth. Period: Popular display pieces such as this were manufactured between 1930 and 1950. Italian immigrants brought this wonderful form of craftsmanship from their homeland. Americans loved the look and affordability. Dimensions: Outside diameter and height of 11 inches with a 3/4-inch depth. Mount: Flat on the back with original embedded eyes with wire for hanging. Hang directly on the wall as it is, or I occasionally see one mounted on a framed, velvet covered board with a surrounding traditional frame for wall art. Condition: This is a lovely decorative wall plaque with minimal small, nicked paint bits that show as small white spots in the photos. Easily touched up if desired but left alone lends vintage authenticity and warm charm. There are no cracks or chunky chips out of the plaster. It displays beautifully!
