French Sèvres/Limoges style decorative wedding or candy basket. This piece stands approximately 7 inches tall and displays exquisite European craftsmanship from the Victorian/Napoleon III era. The body features an intricate, thick woven openwork pattern made of brass/bronze (doré bronze ormolu) designed to beautifully mimic traditional wicker basketry. It is crowned by an elegant, arched ribbon-and-bow style fixed handle. At the center base sits a heavy, glossy white porcelain insert beautifully detailed with hand-painted botanical flowers and fine scrolls.
