Om and Auspicious Pattern Mandala, Hand-Painted, Made in Nepal, Thangka

Thank you for viewing. This is a handmade mandala from Nepal. It is an original painting!
The gold color is made with kondei (pigment mixed with gold powder) and shines brilliantly and divinely when exposed to light.
It is small but powerful.

[OM]
The character depicted in the center of this mandala is OM. It is a spiritual and sacred symbol.
It is said to symbolize the sacred sound that was present when the universe was born from the cosmos.
The Japanese A-un is based on OM.

[Auspicious Patterns]
Four lucky items from Tibetan Buddhism surround the notes.
Victory banner
Wheel
Umbrella
Lotus flower

[Thangka]
This mandala is a Thangka, a Buddhist painting often made in Nepal and Tibet.
The canvas is also entirely handmade.
Cotton cloth is adhered to a wooden frame, and layers of a liquid mixture of limestone powder (chalk), plaster, and pigments are applied until the fabric is no longer visible. The canvas created in this way protects the Thangka from fading damage, and it is said that the colors will not fade for ten years if not exposed to sunlight.

The red border area is a margin for the artwork. It is the margin when peeling from the canvas, so you can cut it to adjust the size, leave it as is, or cover it with a mat of your preferred color when framing.

[Size]
Approximately 17 (13) cm
