Description
Charming vintage mid-century anthropomorphic radish or turnip salt and pepper shaker set, made in Japan. Each little vegetable character features a glossy white radish-shaped head, green leafy top, expressive hand-painted blue eyes, red outfit and shoes, and an unusual dimensional collar accented with metallic gold trim. Both retain their original-style cork stoppers and are marked JAPAN on the underside. Approx. 3½ long x 2 tall each. These have wonderful 1950s/60s Japanese kitsch character and would be especially fun for a collector of anthropomorphic vegetables, vintage kitchenware, or whimsical Japanese ceramics.
