♪ Yamagata Aritomo was born in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. He studied at the Shoka Sonjuku academy and, after the Meiji Restoration, inspected the military systems of European countries. He worked to establish the army, implement conscription, and issue the Imperial Rescript to Soldiers, thereby developing the military system. He formed the Yamagata clique and led the political world as a Genro (elder statesman), a great figure that Yamaguchi Prefecture is proud of. By the way, the garden of Chinzanso, a luxury hotel in Tokyo, is famous as one of the three great gardens created by Yamagata☆彡.
