Hand-Painted Malta Pottery Wall Plate Sleeping Lady Neolithic Venus L Darmanin

These RARE hand-painted Malta pottery wall plates features 3 different fertility Goddesses, including The Sleeping Lady, The Seated Neolithic Venus, and The Standing Neolithic Venus showcasing the work of Maltese artist and signed Louis Darmanin. Made of clay using traditional pottery techniques in terracotta color, this collector plate represents the Maltese culture originating from Malta. The round shape and set of 3 make it a unique and decorative collectible for art enthusiasts and collectors alike. These subjects are recognizable interpretations of actual Maltese archaeological artifacts. The swirl border on the wall plates imitates ancient Mediterranean decorative motifs. These plates were typical of Maltese tourist art from roughly the 1960s - 1980's. These Neolithic/venus fertility figures come from temple sites like Tarxien and Hagar Qim.
