Berber Handwoven Wool Yarn Turquoise Hanging Basket.   Handcrafted in Egypt by Nubian artisan women, these Berber boxes will bring a beautiful decorative touch to your home.  Originally used for storing bread, they can now be used as boxes, plant pot covers, or simply as decoration on a shelf or in a bookcase. This particular one can even be used as a purse/bag.   All the boxes are made from palm leaves and colored wool. Each box is unique. I have several in my closet which I personally bought from the Nubian Village in Egypt.  These boxes are handcratted; slight imperfections may be present.  • Core Base: The interior structure is woven using dense date palm leaves. • Exterior Finish: Brightly colored wool or yarn is wrapped around the palm fibers to create intricate geometric, nomadic patterns. • Functional Design: It includes a matching fitted lid featuring a round woven Pom Pom handle on top and a long hanging strap.   Measurements: 2.75” diameter x 4” deep. 12” strap drop.
