Up for auction/sale is a beautiful, authentic vintage mid-century Spanish Damascene fly insect brooch. Handcrafted in Toledo, Spain, this figural bug pin features incredible artisan craftsmanship from the 1940s to early 1950s era.Item Highlights:Artisan Craftsmanship: The body showcases traditional damasquinado work with intricate gold scrollwork inlaid against a dark, oxidized steel background.Intricate Details: Flanked by delicate, openwork gold-tone wire filigree wings, detailed curved structural legs, and polished cabochon eyes.Vintage Hardware: The reverse side features a classic, early open C-clasp mechanism without a safety catch, pointing directly to its mid-century age. Unmarked/unstamped as is common with many early tourist trade pieces from the region.Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The gold wash finish is bright and clean with very minimal signs of age and no heavy oxidation or verdigris. The pin stem is straight and functions perfectly.
