An authentic, signed vintage ceramic Mardi Gras masquerade face mask brooch by renowned New Orleans artisan Yolanda Simone (signed YS). Handcrafted in Louisiana during the late 1980s/1990s, this high-gloss porcelain piece features exquisite hand-painted cobalt blue details lavishly accented with genuine gold overglaze luster which containing particles of actual 22-karat or 24-karat gold suspended in an oil base.. Applied carefully by hand and bonded permanently to the high-gloss porcelain surface through a meticulous kiln-firing process, the brilliant gold highlights capture the light beautifully and showcase the premium craftsmanship of this vintage New Orleans studio treasure. The reverse is signed N. Orleans and YS. Comes inside a whimsical craft paper gift box. While it is a suitable replacement and not original to the piece, it suites the theatrical aesthetic beautifully. Brooch: Very good vintage condition with a radiant glaze finish. No chips or cracks.
