A Glove de Mariée (Bride's Glove) was a special gift from relatives to a newlywed couple, imbued with their heartfelt wishes. In those days, it was used to display items worn at the wedding ceremony, such as tiaras, rings, and bouquets. This particular piece is adorned with large wax flowers that fill the base. Originally, it would have been placed on a black-painted base favored during the Napoleonic III era and displayed with a glass dome. However, this listing is for the decorative piece only. While there are some minor losses to the wax petals and slight tarnishing of the ormolu due to age, the piece is in good condition with few signs of wear and tear, and the buds are well-preserved.
