New with basting stitches, Intangible Cultural Property [Ushikubi Tsumugi] Kimono, Pure Silk, Formal Visiting Kimono

US Size:

Ushikubi Tsumugi is a silk fabric traditional to the Shiramine district of Hakusan City, Ishikawa Prefecture. It is characterized by its strong durability, unique luster derived from yarn hand-spun from double cocoons, and a rich texture unique to hand-weaving. It is a traditional textile designated as a Prefectural Intangible Cultural Property.

The deep luster, characteristic of silk, is evident even in the images, with a rich sheen created by the textured slubs from the double cocoons.

*This item is highly valuable and has only been stored, never worn.
It is in new condition with basting threads still attached. However, one small stain of about 1mm and two of about 0.5mm were found on the inner right sleeve. They are difficult to notice unless closely inspected.
(The most noticeable ones are on the outer right sleeve, so you can wear it with peace of mind without any issues.)

This is being offered at a low price. If you are interested, please feel free to contact me to discuss a price reduction.

Thank you for your consideration.
